A-Listers pertain to those who bagged awards in prestigious A-List international film festivals as declared by the International Federation of Film Producers Associations (FIAPF).&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<!--more-->\n\n\n\n<p>Rafael Manuel was awarded the Berlinale Shorts Silver Bear Jury Prize for \u201cFilipi\u00f1ana\u201d at the 70th Berlin International Film Festival in Germany while Lav Diaz won the Orizzonti Award for Best Director for \u201cLahi, Hayop (Genus Pan)\u201d at the 77th Venice International Film Festival in Italy.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.fdcp.ph\/sites\/default\/files\/02%20-%20FAN%202021%20A-Lister%20Lav%20Diaz.jpeg\" alt=\"\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>FAN 2021 A-Lister Lav Diaz<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.fdcp.ph\/sites\/default\/files\/03%20-%20FAN%202021%20A-Lister%20Rafael%20Manuel.jpg\" alt=\"\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>FAN 2021 A-Lister Rafael Manuel<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Feature Films category has six honorees: \u201cSunshine Family\u201d by Kim Tai-Sik, \u201cWrite About Love\u201d by Crisanto Aquino, \u201cLatay (Battered Husband)\u201d by Ralston Jover, \u201cPan de Salawal\u201d by Che Espiritu, \u201cLingua Franca\u201d by Isabel Sandoval, and \u201cJohn Denver Trending\u201d by Arden Rod Condez. The honorees in the Directors category are Maria Diane Ventura for \u201cDeine Farbe,\u201d Mallorie Ortega for \u201cThe Girl Who Left Home,\u201d and Derick Cabrido for \u201cClarita.\u201d&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Actors category will award Cristine Reyes for \u201cUnTrue,\u201d Ruby Ruiz for \u201cIska,\u201d Elijah Canlas for \u201cKalel, 15,\u201d Louise Abuel for \u201cEdward,\u201d Isabel Sandoval for \u201cLingua Franca,\u201d Lovi Poe and Allen Dizon for \u201cLatay,\u201d the cast of \u201cKaputol\u201d led by Cherie Gil, Alfred Vargas, Angel Aquino, and Ronwaldo Martin, and Alden Richards for being the Asian Star Prize recipient at the Seoul International Drama Awards. Through the Film Ambassadors\u2019 Night, we celebrate their efforts and laud their achievements,\u201d said FDCP Chairperson and CEO Liza Di\u00f1o.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The FAN has other categories such as Short Films, Documentaries, Creative Awards, and Special Citation. The two Special Citation recipients are veteran television and film director Luisito Lagdameo Ignacio and the late filmmaker and International Film Festival Manhattan co-founder Gerry Balasta.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Cinemadvocates, Gabay ng Industriya &amp; Camera Obscura<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The FAN will bestow special awards to pay tribute to the invaluable contributions of film industry stakeholders who continuously work for the betterment of Philippine Cinema.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Cinemadvocates is a special segment of this year\u2019s FAN to laud individuals and groups that tirelessly champion the welfare of film workers and the development of the industry. This year\u2019s Camera Obscura awardees are Jun Juban of Philippine Film Studios, Inc., multi-awarded documentary \u201cAswang\u201d by Alyx Arumpac, and former NCCA Commissioner of the Arts Teddy Co.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Juban\u2019s Philippine Film Studios, Inc. has been a critical figure in the country\u2019s film and audiovisual industry, having produced and co-produced numerous films and audiovisual content, the most notable of which are Academy Award winners \u201cBorn on the Fourth of July\u201d and \u201cPlatoon\u201d by Oliver Stone, \u201cThe Bourne Legacy\u201d by Tony Gilroy, Metro Manila Film Festival Best Picture \u201c10,000 Hours\u201d by Bb. The full-length documentary went on to win eight international awards in 2020: Best International Feature-Length Documentary at Festival Film Dokumenter in Indonesia, Grand Prize-Best International Feature at the RIDM Montreal International Documentary Festival in Canada, Amnesty International Human Rights Award at the Thessaloniki International Film Festival in Greece, White Goose Award (Grand Prize) of DMZ International Documentary Festival in South Korea, Grand Prix (Nouveaux Talents Competition) at Corsica.Doc &#8211; AJACCIO International Documentary Film Festival in France, Beyond The Screen Award of Docaviv International Documentary Film Festival in Israel, and Prix Du Premier Film Professionnel and Special Mention of Festival Traces de Vies in France.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.fdcp.ph\/sites\/default\/files\/15%20-%20%E2%80%9CAswang%E2%80%9D%20director%20Alyx%20Arumpac.jpg\" alt=\"\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cAswang\u201d director Alyx Arumpac<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.fdcp.ph\/sites\/default\/files\/06%20-%20FAN%202021%20Camera%20Obscura%20Awardee%20Mr.%20Teddy%20Co_0.jpg\" alt=\"\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>FAN 2021 Camera Obscura Awardee Mr. Teddy Co<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Teddy Co, a former NCCA Commissioner of the Arts and Head of National Committee on Cinema, is a director, curator, and archivist, who significantly helped in the repatriation and restoration of lost films by Manuel Conde, Gerardo de Leon, and Nonoy Marcelo, among others. He co-founded Cinema Rehiyon, which he continues to curate, and is a selection committee member for Cinemalaya, Cinema One Originals, and QCinema International Film Festival.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>The first virtual FAN<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>For its 5th edition, the FAN will be held in support of the NCCA\u2019s National Arts Month. It is going to be streamed online for free on February 28, Sunday, at 8 p.m. exclusively on the FDCP Channel. Those who want to watch the FAN 2021 may sign up for free at fdcpchannel.ph.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The FAN is supported by the CCP through the participation of its resident symphony orchestra, the Philippine Philharmonic Orchestra (PPO). The PPO will perform in various production numbers alongside the country\u2019s premiere performers such as Bamboo, Tres Marias (Bayang Barrios, Cooky Chua, and Lolita Carbon), Bituin Escalante, Beverly Salviejo, Karla Gutierrez, Lawrence Jatayna, and The Pogi Boys.
